Festive Events in Amesbury

Looking for free events? We’ve got you covered. On December 1st, enjoy the parade downtown and welcome Santa to Amesbury! When Santa arrives in Market Square, he’ll help the Chamber of Commerce light the Christmas Tree after leading holiday carols.

Lowell’s Boat Shop’s Annual Holiday Open House is the first weekend of December featuring music, food, and art. You can pick up a Christmas tree and check out their Silent Auction and Art Show.

On the 3rd, take advantage of the Chamber of Commerce’s hospitality at their Jingle & Mingle mixer with complimentary food & drink!

View the annual lighting of the Hanukkah menorah on December 5th at the gazebo in front of the Amesbury Public Library where donuts, latkes, and hot drinks will be served.

Market Square will be the center of Winterfest Weekend on December 15th and 16th. Ring in the season with carolers, horse-drawn carriage rides, ice sculpture demos, and an outdoor skating rink!

Unfortunately, New England Sports Park will be closed this snow tubing season, but if you’re willing to brave the cold, Woodsom Farm has the best sledding hills once the snow starts piling up.

Check out the beautiful lights and decorations all over the city, and don’t miss the Amesbury Holiday House! The Amesbury Holiday House, located at 19 South Martin Road, starts a 45-minute light show synchronized to music at 7pm each night from December 1st until Christmas. This year they will be accepting donations of unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program.

‘Tis the season for giving, so if you want to give back, attend Cashman Elementary School’s showing of The Polar Express on December 6th and bring an unwrapped toy to be donated to the U.S. Marine’s Toys for Tots program. Also on the 6th, Friends of the Amesbury Public Library are hosting their 8th Annual Cookie Walk, with proceeds benefiting the library (and delicious cookies benefiting you!).

Food & Drinks in Amesbury

Cozy up by the fire at Flatbread and chow down on one of their weekly specials, or gather with friends and family to enjoy the warm atmosphere and delicious food of Trina’s Starlite Lounge.

This winter, Brewery Silvaticus is hosting their first annual holiday market in the taproom! On December 16, shop for items made by local crafters while enjoying a beer. And, pop in for a round of trivia on December 5th!

The new upstairs at Ale House has 14 new games for you to play ($0.50) while enjoying craft beers and delicious food, including some recently added entrees on their menu.

On December 7th, kick off the weekend by grabbing a beer at BareWolf Brewing and enjoying the music of The Wolff Sisters & The Last Cavalry!

Check out live music on Thursdays at Crave, or enjoy family night every Tuesday – kids’ meals are just $5! Now open 7 days a week (and offering curbside pick-up), Crave is ready to celebrate the season with new winter cocktails!

Holiday Shopping in Amesbury

Thanks to the Chamber of Commerce, every Thursday there’s the opportunity to Shop Local, Shop Late. Many local retailers and restaurants will be open until 8pm, giving you the opportunity to do your holiday shopping right here in Amesbury!

Make sure you get to Cider Hill Farm to pick out a tree, plus wreaths, kissing balls, and garland to get your house feeling festive. Then be sure to stop in the Farm Store to get your final fix of cider donuts, and pick up local goodies and their own hard cider before they close on December 16th! Plus, look for great in-store sales as they clear out their shelves for the season.

If the beautifully decorated windows of Eighteen Friend Street don’t get you in the door, their gift selection sure will! Hand-painted ornaments, holiday keychains, handknit socks, and punny holiday wine glasses are just a few of the enormous selection of locally made items that would make fabulous gifts!

With a bunch of new holiday inventory, Hedgehog General Store has something for everyone on your list! Vintage beeswax ornaments, hand-painted wooden signs, and stocking stuffers galore!

And don’t forget your furry friends! Santa will be at Paws Pet Boutique on Sunday, December 2nd from 11am to 3pm. Bring your pups by for a photo with St. Nick, enjoy refreshments, and pick up a doggie Advent calendar!
